Our Talking Shops in Doncaster and Scunthorpe are drop-in advice and psychological therapy shop’s which give people the opportunity to browse information on mental health issues and gain knowledge about the therapies offered by the Trust.
Information at the shops include prevention and self-help literature, the very latest computer-based intervention programmes, as well as an opportunity for a short initial consultation with a health professional if necessary.
Reception staff and volunteers help visitors to access information and use the computers. Carers of people with mental health problems are also able to access information and local support.
People who may benefit from a course of treatment with a therapist are advised how they can access this through the available referral pathways. (This would usually include a consultation with their GP).
Once referred to the RDaSH IAPT service, our therapists can provide you with a wide range of talking therapies, which include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and counselling.
